 Micro Ring Hair Extensions (also known as micro bead  extensions) are perfect if you’re looking for a more long-term solution to lengthen or thicken  your natural  hair. Micro rings or the micro bonding methods last for 2-3 months before needing to be re-fitted (as they grow 1.5 inches away from your root). Clip in hair extensions are fitted in and out daily. Other methods such as Tape  last 6-8 weeks or Micro Weft Last 4-6 weeks before they need re adjusting.

When fitted correctly and the right method has been chosen no extensions should be seen,  If  visible when first applied  then they must be re-adjusted . The  client should be confident to show off their new locks without any worries.

If after a few weeks  your  hair extensions start to become visible/uncomortable , then you  should book in with your Stylist as soon as possible rather than waiting for their next maintenance appointment, so they can take a look at your hair.

The difference between nano rings and micro rings is primarily the difference in their size. With regards to the fitting method, they’re both virtually the same in the technique used to fit extension – just a nano ring is smaller than a micro ring.

Because of the size difference, nano rings can only be used with nano tipped hair extensions, and micro rings can only be used on stick tip hair extensions.

 Keratin for hair extensions comes in a number of different forms.  If you are having your hair extensions applied using a pre bonded method, the keratin will already be attached to the end of each strand of hair extension hair in a nail type shape as illustrated below.  A heat connector is then used to fuse the end of the hair extension to the natural hair.  The second form keratin can take is in the form of keratin grains or beads.  These are generally used to retip hair extensions before a fitting takes place, and are generally only purchased by hair extension professionals who know how to use them.  The final form is a keratin stick which is inserted into a heat gun used to apply hair extensions that are not pre bonded. 

 As keratin is naturally found in hair, it is safe to use as a hair extension fitting method.  You must however be careful to ensure that if you do decide to have hair extensions fitted that this is performed by a professional who is qualified to do so.  The same can also be said when it comes to removing hair extensions, and it is equally as important to ensure this is performed correctly.

 Keratin is often referred to as “glue”, however it is in fact a glue like substance that can perform in this capacity, but is not a synthetic product like most “glues”.  In much the same way, keratin is often referred to as a wax, which can also lead to more confusion regarding what this product actually is.

MICRO WEFT  HAIR EXTENSIONS

Micro Weft Hair Extensions involves using a weft of hair which is a long seam that the hair is attached to at the top (like used for clip-in extensions) and are attached to your hair with Micro Beads as seen in the image on the left. Wefts of hair come in a variety of colours, lengths up to 22 inches and styles i.e. straight, body wave, curly and different hair textures. This method is perfect for adding instant length and volume to the hair. Micro Weft are one of the more newer and quicker  methods of hair extensions as a full head application only taking about 60 mins and a re adjustment only taking about 45mins 

HOW LONG DOES MICRO WEFT LAST??

Micro Weft Extensions need to be re adjusted on average every 4-6 weeks depending on your natural hair growth.
